KARACHI, Nov 28: Mauripur Baloch edged past Aurora FC 2-1 in the only KASB Premier League Football (PLF) match played at the CDGK Stadium on Thursday.

Mauripur opened scoring with striker Abdul Samad heading in Imran Hussain’s cross pass in the 11th minute.

Parity was restored by Aurora FC in the 36th minute through their midfielder Saddam Hussein.

Saddam’s hit from inside the penalty area slipped past goalkeeper Wajid Ali’s left to reach its target.

The score at interval was 1-1.

A fine combination by Mauripur’s frontrunners Mohammad Hanif, Adnan Sakhi, Imran Hussain and Abdul Ghafoor along with midfielders Nawaz Rehman and Akhtar Hussain resulted in a cross from the right that left-winger Mohammad Hanif headed in, in the 72nd minute.

The win increased Mauripur’s chances of being included in the top eight teams.

Meanwhile Aurora will have to win all of their remaining four matches to make it to the next phase.
