KARACHI, Nov 28: A sub-inspector deputed at the Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) was shot dead in Gulshan-i-Hadeed area late in the evening. The incident created tension in the area forcing shopkeepers to pull down shutters.

The police and witnesses said SI Abdul Qadir Rind was a resident of Phase-I of Gulshan-i-Hadeed and was sitting in the same area with friends when three armed men in a car stopped near them and opened fire.

Man slits wife’s throat

A man allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat and ran away. Police suspected that some domestic dispute between the couple led to the murder.

Some residents of Jamali Goth, Block 13-D, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, approached the police station in the evening after hearing screams of children from inside the victim’s house and seeing their mother’s body lying in the pool of blood.

Nasreen, 35, was mother of four children, who were in a state of shock and grief,” said SHO Zubair Tanoli of Gulshan-i-Iqbal police station. “The family hails from Rahim Yar Khan and according to the initial questioning from the family members, the victim got married with Fareed Ahmed under Watta Satta tradition a few years ago.”
