ISLAMABAD, Nov 27: Kim Hae-Sung from Korea overwhelmed compatriot Shin Jung Yoon 7-5, 6-1 to move into the final of the first ITF Pakistan Women’s Future Tennis Circuit played at the PTF Tennis Complex on Thursday.
Hae will face Venkatesha Poojashree from India on Saturday.
In the first semi-final Hae from Korea played some powerful volleys against unseeded Shin. Shin, built up her lead 4-0 breaking the second and fourth game of Kim smashing some powerful ground strokes from the baseline.
However, Kim bounced back winning the first set 7-5 breaking the eleventh game of Shin. Shin also made two double faults.
In the second set Kim was in full command as she played some superb backhand shots.
Kim lifted the second set 6-1 breaking the third, fourth, fifth and seventh game. Shin made 10 double faults in the second set.
In the day’s second semi-final Venkatesha Poojashree of India beat compatriot Sweta Solanki Kumari winning in two straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Poojashree, won her first set 6-0 breaking the first, third and fifth game of Kumari displaying spectacular game from the baseline. Poojashree, kept the same pressure in the second set finishing the match in same fashion winning 6-0.
Meanwhile, in the doubles event Kim Hae Sung / Shin Jung Yoon (Korea) and Treta Bhattacharyya / Venkatesha Poojashree (India) advanced into the women’s doubles.
Treta and Poojashree from India eliminated compatriots Kumari and Shivika in the first semi-final winning 6-1,6-0.
In the second semi-final Korean pair Kim and Shin hammered Archana and Arthi from India in straight sets 6-1,6-1 advancing into the doubles final event.
