QUETTA, Nov 27: The Balochistan chapter of the ‘ideological’ faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam held a demonstration here on Thursday in protest against US attacks in Pakistan territory and military operations in Fata and the NWFP.

Activists took out a procession from the JUI office. It was led by MNA Maulana Asmatullah.

They torched the US flag and raised slogans against US President George Bush and President Asif Zardari.

Former Senator Hafiz Fazal Mohammad Barach, Maulana Qadir Luni and Hafiz Dault addressed the protesters and criticised the atrocities committed by the US-led allied forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.

They criticised the PPP-led government for carrying out military operations in Fata and Balochistan.

They demanded that military operations in tribal areas and Balochistan should be stopped.
