Double blow for Aisam

LAHORE, May 11: Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi was caught on a wrong day in Namangan, Uzbekistan and was beaten in the singles quarterfinals and doubles final.

Aisam was defeated by second seed Igor Kunitcin of Russia in the singles quarterfinals despite winning the first set 6-2 but lost next two sets 5-7, 3-6.

Later in the doubles final Aisam and Tuomas Ketola of Finland lost to the South African pair of Rik de Voest and Dirk Stegmann after a close fight 5-7, 4-6.—APP
