Published November 28, 2008

KARACHI, Nov 27: President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anjum Nisar has urged the Federal Board of Revenue to allow tax-payers to adjust their tax liability against their determined income tax, sales tax and excise refunds under the Investment Tax Scheme 2008 for Undisclosed Income.

This facility, the KCCI chief reminded, was available under all the previous amnesty schemes given by successive governments in 1958, 1969, 1976, 1985 1977 and in 2,000.

He said the business in Pakistan was under terrible stress because of obvious conditions ands hence tax-payers find it difficult to pay cash under the amnesty scheme.

He referred to an FBR circular which allowed adjustment of liability against refunds.
