Minister visits Karachi Port

KARACHI, Nov 26: The minister of state for ports and shipping Sardar Nabeel Ahmad Gabol visited the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) head office and the port area on Wednesday.

The KPT chairperson Mrs Nasreen Haque briefed the minister in detail on the Pakistan deepwater container port project. The minister showed keen interest in the development projects being executed by the KPT.

During his first visit after taking over the charge of the minister of state for ports and shipping Mr Gabol took a round of the East and West wharves, where he saw cargo handling of various commodities. He also examined oil piers and appreciated the efforts of the port management in streamlining its operations, says a press release.
