LAKKI MARWAT, May 11: District Nazim Humayun Saifullah Khan has said that the only remedy for loadshedding and low voltage in the area is the construction of a grid station, for which he has allocated 14 kanals and action by the Water and Power Development Authority is awaited.

Speaking at an open court held at Serai Naurang on Saturday to discuss the problems of the area, Humayun Saifullah said the second important issue of the area was shortage of water.

He said the district government had started repairing the tube-wells at a cost of Rs1 million, while a plan of the federal government was being implemented under the Drought Emergency Recovery Assistance (Dera) programme with a cost of around Rs40 million.

He said the NWFP governor had sanctioned a grant of Rs2 million for repairs and installation of tube-wells in the area.
