Power failures hit Hub

Published May 12, 2002

HUB, May 11: Frequent power shutdowns have made life of Hub people miserable as the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation KESC shuts down power for more than four hours daily.

Though the practice has been continuing for the past many months, since arrival of the summer has gained a momentum.

The power normally goes at 12 midnight and it is restored after two to three hours.

Talking to Dawn, some residents complain that repeated complaints with the KESC authorities concerned, have proved futile.

Reports coming from other areas of Lasbela district say that the situation is the same there as the whole district receives electricity through the KESC.

HINDU FESTIVAL: The historical annual festival of Hindu community started at Hinglaj, some 100 kilometres from here.

Hundreds of Hindu Yatries, from all over the country, have arrived to participate in the three-day festival, know as Mata Devi Ka Mela.
