VEHARI, Nov 24: Police could not find a clue to captors of six-year-old Ejaz who had been kidnapped from G-block of Vehari two weeks back.

Reports said some motorist had abducted Ejaz, a class-II student, when he was on his way home from school and later demanded Rs500,000 for his release.

Mumtaz, a retired army

man, told this correspondent that the Danewal police could neither recover his son

Ejaz nor find clue to the kidnappers.

The victim’s father said the accused had been threatening him with dire consequences for the last two week. He said after threats he had shifted his family outside the city.

He said: “I am a poor man and cannot pay ransom. I appeal to high-up to help me and get my son recovered.”

It was learnt that three kidnap incidents had taken place during the last two weeks but the police could not trace any accused.

Four days back, three-year-old Juma had been kidnapped from Muslim Town and later his body was found from 32-quarter disposal. The Danewal police had registered a case after recovery of the body.

Three days ago, Nadir, 8, had been abducted at gunpoint from Y-Block of People’s Colony. Neither the captors contacted the victim’s family so far nor the police found any clue.

However, police claimed that they were struggling to trace the culprits.
