PESHAWAR, May 11: The district steering committee of Nowshera at a workshop expressed its intention to involve lady health workers in the birth registration process.

The one-day workshop jointly organized by the local government department and Plan Pakistan also reviewed the progress made in creating awareness among the people at the grassroots level about birth registration in Nowshera, said a statement on Saturday.

The district coordination officer, officials of health, education and social welfare departments and cantonment board, Nadra, representatives of NGOs and CBOs and office-bearers of district bar association attended the workshop.

The coordinator of Expanded Programme on Immunization said the lady health workers would be involved in creating awareness among women about the birth registration.—Bureau
