MULTAN, Nov 20: City District Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar has expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of all the departments of the district, saying that due to the irresponsible attitude of officials the district government was failing in achieving its targets.

According to a handout issued here on Thursday, the District Nazim, through a letter to District Coordination Officer Fazeel Asghar, said that the CPR Lab and Dialysis Center was established with hundreds of thousands rupees at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital but both the centers were lying closed.

The nazim termed the method of collecting taxes inappropriate and showed his concern over the delay in the construction of Patwar Khana.

Deploring the plight of education sector, the letter noted that there had been no progress on the schools’ merger plan. Despite the availability of funds, neither the furniture could be purchased nor merit scholarships were given to those students who had obtained 70 per cent marks in middle standard examination.

He said that despite his directions, the Multan Development Authority did not make any effort to remove signboards from parks and footpaths.

He directed the DCO to give special attention to improve the performance of all departments.
