LAHORE, Nov 18: Seasoned film director Pervaiz Malik died of cardiac arrest in Islamabad on Tuesday. He was 71.

He was a chronic heart patient and had been living with his sons in Islamabad for the last few years.

Pervaiz Malik’s directorial career spans over more than 4o years. His debut film was, Heera Aur Pathar, released in 1964 starring Waheed Murad. He was the first qualified film director of the country having a foreign degree.

Arman, the first platinum jubilee flick of the country, took his professional worth to new heights.

Shabana, Qurbani, and Gumnam are also considered among the best of his directions.

His funeral will be taken out from House No 2, 79-G-6/4, Islamabad, at 11am today. He will be laid to rest in H-8 graveyard.
