UMERKOT, Nov 16: A farmer has accused two local leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party of occupying his 65 acres of agricultural land in deh Gora Band in the Samaro area.

Abdul Razzaq Halepoto told journalists here on Sunday that the PPP leaders; Haji Baqa Palli and Murad Ali Palli, along with 40 armed men, had encroached upon his land. He said that he had approached police for registration of an FIR but police refused to lodge the case because of political pressure.

However, ASI Khadim of the Samaro police station said that nobody had approached police for registration of FIR in respect of the agriculture land.

On the other hand, PPP leader Haji Baqa Palli said that the land in question was in the name of Murad Ali Palli, and had been occupied by Abdul Razzaq Halepoto.

PEASANT DIED: A peasant died of snakebite near Chhor on Sunday. Jumu Bheel, 45, resident of Haveli was at his agriculture land, where he was stung by a snake.
