Port Qasim

Karachi, Nov 14: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships scheduled to load, offload containers, cement and wheat were accommodated on berths at Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT) and Multipurpose Terminal (MPT), respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, another container ship anchored at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 50 per cent at the port where a total of five ships occupied berths to load, offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil and Iron ore, respectively, during the report period.

A cargo volume of 29,013 tons comprising 20,360 tons imports and 8,652 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 1,570 Teus, was handled at the port during the period under review.

Four ships, Aqua Star, Tai Han Hai, CMA CGM Eiffel and

Iran Tabas sailed out to the sea during the report period.—APP
