EAST LONDON (South Africa), Nov 12: The third and final One-day International between South Africa and Bangladesh was abandoned without a ball bowled at Buffalo Park here on Wednesday.

With heavy rain falling and more predicted for the afternoon and evening, umpires Nigel Long and Marais Erasmus decided it would be impossible to get play under way.

South Africa won the series 2-0, winning by 61 runs in Potchefstroom and 128 runs in Benoni. South African opening batsman Hashim Amla, who made 140 in Benoni, was named Man-of-the-Series.

The two sides will meet in two Tests, starting in Bloemfontein on Nov 19. The Bangladeshis will play a two-day warm-up match against a South African Amateur team in Kimberley on Saturday and Sunday.—AFP
