NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Nov 11: Land-grabbers pulled down gate of the main primary school in Moro a day ago and constructed a shop on the encroached government land inside the school premises, said students and teachers of the school who protested against the land-grab on Tuesday.
The protesters also included activists of different political parties and general public who held a rally, which marched to the press club where the participants held a demonstration.
The protesters led by headmaster of the school, Ghulam Shabbir Khokhar, then staged a sit-in outside Moro police station. They said that some influential people had pulled down the school’s gate on Sunday, occupied a piece of plot inside the school premises, which opened towards Shahi Bazaar and constructed a shop there.
They alleged that the encroachers resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters when the rally was passing through Shahi Bazaar and demanded that police lodge an FIR against the land-grabbers.
SHO of Moro police station Mir Imdad Talpur said that they had filed a report about the incident. DPO Nisar Ahmed Channa had taken serious notice of the land-grab and would soon reach Moro, he added.
KILLED: Five-year-old Wissar, son of Mohammad Hanif Tamachi, was killed when he was hit by a speeding tractor-trolley on the Moro-Dadu road on Tuesday.
No FIR was lodged at the Moro police station till the filing of this report.
