MIRPURKHAS, Nov 11: Shortage of medicines at the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas has ended with the release of 75 per cent of funds.
The District Purchase Committee of Health Department completed the tender process to procure medicines and the company began medicines supply until November 25.
Executive District Officer of Health Mirpurkhas, Dr Khadim Hussain Lakhair told Dawn that efforts were on to improve the system at Civil Hospital and in this connection police picket had been setup to provide safety to doctors and paramedical staff.
He further said that he was the Secretary of District Purchase Committee and the tender process began in July while the district government released the budget in September.
He said that Rs4.832 million were allocated in budget for medicines of the Civil Hospital for four months – July, August, September and October.
