MUZAFFARGARH, Nov 9: People killed a ‘transformer thief’ after catching him ‘red-handed’ in Shah Jamal Basti of Muzaffargarh tehsil on Sunday.

Ashiq Hussain, 35, and his four accomplices were allegedly stealing a transformer when some people of the village woke up. They caught Hussain, but his four accomplices fled.

They beat him up, killed him at the scene and also informed Shah Jamal police about the incident. However, Hussain’s family said Iqbal and others killed him when he was on his way to home. Shah Jamal police registered a case against Iqbal and others. —Correspondent
