AFP’s search for marathon runner

KARACHI, Nov 7: The Athletic Federation of Pakistan (AFP) has invited recommendations from its affiliated units for final selection of a marathon runner for Indian Premier International Marathon being held at Pune on Dec 7.In a communication, the AFP has asked the concerned units to send profile and best timings of their marathon runners to it by Nov 8.

The AFP plans to send a long distance runner across the border where the hosts will provide free boarding and lodging.

Meanwhile, the general council meeting of the AFP which was scheduled to take place on Nov 8 has been postponed, a spokesman for the AFP told Dawn from Islamabad. The next date for the moot will be announced later, he added.
