KARACHI, Nov 7: Giving notable performance, talented Zaidi annexed a double crown in the 18th STA Talent Hunt Sindh ranking tennis championship which concluded at the City Sports Complex on Friday.
Third seed Mustafa first disposed off second seed Talha Saeed 6-2, 6-0 and later teamed up with Omer Shahid to notch up a 6-3, 6-2 victory over the pair of Abdul Rehman and Talha Saeed to claim the doubles title.
However, Mustafa, who was top seed in boys’ under-15, was knocked out by sixth seed Abdul Rehman in the quarters.
Teenagers Eman Malik and Saud Shoaib also matched Zaidi’s performance with double crowns.
Eman beat Maheen Dada 6-0, 6-1 for girls’ under-17 honours on Thursday evening and defeated Sara Ahmed 6-1, 6-1 in a one-sided ladies singles final.
Saud landed the boys’ under-11 and under-13 crowns by virtue of winning most matches on round robin league.
It was a cakewalk for junior international Nasir Mushtaq who was home 6-1, 6-1 against Faraz Ahsan in the men’s singles final to add another feather to his cap.
Up and coming Adil Kohari, a junior international, who met his waterloo in juniors’ under-17 singles quarter-final, losing to Nameer Shamsi in a three-setter, produce his best to chalk up a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 victory over Abdul Rehman for boys’ under-15 singles title.
The boys’ under-9 title, meanwhile, went to M. Raza Sawani while Asim Allahwala was the runner-up.

Boys’ under-15 singles: Adil Kohari bt Abdul Rehman 6-1, 4-6, 7-6.
Juniors’ under-17 singles: Mustafa Zaidi bt Talha Saeed 6-2, 6-0.
Girls’ under-17 singles: Eman Malik bt Maheen Dada 6-0, 6-1.
Juniors’ under-17 doubles: Omer Shahid and Mustafa Zaidi bt Abdul Rehman and Talha Saeed 6-3, 6-2.
Ladies singles: Eman Malik bt Sara Ahmed 6-1, 6-1.
Men’s singles: Nasir Mushtaq bt Faraz Ahsan 6-1, 6-1.
