RAWALPINDI, Nov 7: Federal Minister for Defence, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar has said that the present government was committed to amelioration of common man.

He said that the government had embarked upon a plan to construct one million housing units for the low-paid employees in all the provinces of the country. He said that plans were also afoot to distribute land among the landless people.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of oath taking ceremony of newly elected office-bearers of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Union at Benazir Bhutto International Airport here on Friday.

Highlighting the priorities of the government, the Minister said that the government of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) wanted to mitigate the sufferings of common man by providing jobs and other economic opportunities.
