BEIJING, Nov 6: A truck driver killed four people and injured 20 when he seeking revenge for a traffic dispute with police drove a truck into a crowded schoolyard in southern China, the Xinhua news agency said late on Wednesday.

The driver, from the central province of Hubei, had vowed revenge after a dispute with local police over traffic violations, Xinhua quoted local residents as saying.

The truck ploughed at a high speed into a crowd of students who were streaming out from the Chendong High School at Baijiao Township as classes ended at about 5pm on Wednesday, Xinhua said.

The driver was shot dead, said Cai Xinhua, government spokesman for the southern border city of Zhuhai, which administers Baijiao.

High school students were among the four who died, Xinhua said. Three other victims remain in a coma.

Yang Chunmei, a 7th-year student, told Xinhua she saw a “crazy” truck rushing into the school from the back door, running through the school yard and heading to the front door.—Reuters
