Victorious squash team returns

ISLAMABAD, May 10: The Pakistan squash team that won the 11th Asian Championship in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday returned home late Thursday night.

Sqd Ldr. Sajid Waheed, the team manager said that the boys had put up an excellent show and fully deserved victory. “All of them worked hard and played to their potential.”

Pakistan toppled defending champions Malaysia, who were rated as hot favourites, 3-0 in the final with Shahid Zaman, Mansoor Zaman and Aijaz Azmat, all scoring victories.

Sajid, who is also the secretary of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), said that the boys had now returned to their home stations and would soon assemble again in Peshawar for the NWFP Open Pakistan Circuit II starting from May 15.
