KARACHI: Ban on heavy vehicles

KARACHI, Nov 5: The Sindh home department has imposed a ban on the entry of heavy vehicles in the metropolis from 6am to 11pm for a period of 30 days.

An exception has, however, been allowed to the vehicles transporting water, edible oil, construction material, liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, medical gases, meat, skin and other related goods provided they are permanently stationed in Karachi.

The heavy vehicles entering Karachi would be allowed to proceed on the specified routes identified below:

Super Highway to Slip Road and the New Karachi Industrial Area; National Highway up to Manzar petrol pump cut and Younus Chowrangi to Dawood Chowrangi up to Road 8000; Northern Bypass/RCD Highway to Paracha Chowk up to Estate Avenue and Siemens Chowrangi and back to Gulbai, Mauripur Road up to Karachi Prot; M.T. Khan Road up to KPT Godowns and back via NLC intersection and Mai Kolachi to the port area.—APP
