QUETTA, Nov 4: The Balochistan government has decided to constitute a committee comprising officials of the Army and Frontier Corps for distribution of money among the earthquake-hit for rebuilding their homes.
“We have sent a plan to the federal government for the purpose,” chief secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa said while briefing Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi on the pace of relief activities.
The amount would be distributed after a survey of damaged houses by the Army in 10 days.
Mr Khosa said that so far 6,700 tents and 16,000 blankets had been distributed and another 2,000 tents would be reaching Quetta in a couple of days.
He said the provincial government had supplied medicines worth Rs4 million and 18 medical teams were providing medical aid to the quake victims. He said that gas supplies to the affected areas had been restored.
