MUZAFFARGARH, Nov 4: Six people were hurt here on Tuesday when bitten by a bitch which was said to be suffering from rabies.

The stray bitch suddenly appeared in Qaimwala locality in the evening and bit Abdul Manan, Aleena, Arif, Zahid, Shakir, Sheraz and Sumaira who were passing through the main bazaar.

The incident created panic in the locality, forcing people to go indoors. However, someone shot the bitch to avoid further bite incidents.

The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital where they were admitted to emergency ward and were administered anti-rabies vaccine.

Later, they were discharged.

The incident is an eye-opener for TMA officials as the number of stray dogs was reportedly rising in the city.
