Man commits suicide

ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan because of family dispute, police said here on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Sajid Mehmood, 30, a resident of Chak Shahzad. The incident came to light when his father found him hanging from a piece of rope tied with the ceiling fan of his room.

Later, the body was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for autopsy and the police were informed about the incident.

The police said Mehmood married three years ago and had a daughter. The couple developed differences soon after the marriage and used to engage in quarrel. As a result, the wife returned to her parents’ home about a year ago.

The departure of her wife drove Mehmood into distress and he used to remain alone and stayed in his room. He was mentally disturbed for the last couple of months and took the extreme step.

Meanwhile, a Honda Civic model 1995 was stolen from the parking area of Capital Development Authority. A motorcycle of Rana Sajad was lifted from outside of his house at I-10/1.
