Woman shot dead in name of honour

SUKKUR, Nov 1: A woman was gunned down by armed men reportedly over a karo-kari dispute in Ganj Ali Jatoi village in the limits of Bagarji police limits near here on Saturday.

Reports eraching here said that three unknown armed men barged into the house of Zehro Jatoi and shot dead his daughter Ms Zubaida Shambhani.

Police shifted the body to local hospital for post mortem but did not file any case.

Villagers claimed that Ms Zubaida had been declared as kari 15 years ago and afterwards her father Zehro Jatoi had married her to one Jeand Shambhani of Karachi. She had come to live with her parents after her husband was killed in a road accident in Karachi 20 days ago.
