KARACHI, Oct 29: The two-day pre qualifying round of the CNS International Squash Championship, which were scheduled to commence at the PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan squash complex from Thursday, has been curtailed to a single day and will now take place on Friday.

“The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), in a communication, has asked the hosts to conduct the pre-qualifying round on Oct 31,” organising secretary of the event, Lt Cdr Mohammad Ali Ansari, told Dawn on Wednesday.

He said according to the PSF secretary, Wing Cdr Shamsul Haq, the matches for the first two rounds of pre qualifiers are to be conducted on best of three games and for the last round on best of five.

The pre qualifiers will have a draw of 32.

Four players will advance to the qualifying round which begins on Nov 1. The main round gets into action on Nov 3.

Meanwhile, outstation players have started arriving in the city to compete in the event which carries prize money of $25,000.
