Robbers kill cop in encounter

KASUR, Oct 29: A police constable was killed in an encounter with robbers near the Sahjowal police station in Pattoki’s Sadar police precincts early on Wednesday morning.

Constables Mirza Jamil Baig and Muhammad Ismail were on duty at a picket near Sahjowal railway crossing when four robbers opened fire at them. The policemen retaliated and constable Baig was injured in the ensuing crossfire.

In the meantime, a police team reached the scene, but the robbers fled. Injured Baig succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

CATTLE SHOW: The Livestock Department organised a cattle show at Kot Radha Kishan to encourage breeders to breed fine quality animals to meet milk and meat needs.
