LAKKI MARWAT, Oct 29: An explosive device planted alongside the residence of Mr Salim Saifullah in Ghaznikhel village went off on Tuesday night, damaging a portion of the house’s boundary wall, officials said.

They said that unidentified outlaws had planted an indigenously made bomb along the boundary wall of Saifullahs’ residence in Ghaznikhel area. They said that Senator Salim Saifullah Khan, MNA Humayun Saifullah Khan and MPA Anwar Saifullah Khan were not present in the house at the time of explosion.

Sources said that the broken bricks of the damaged wall scattered in the surrounding area, however no loss of life was reported.

SHO Ghaznikhel Tahir Khan Dawar said that 1.5 kg gunpowder was used in the blast. He said that a case had been registered against the unidentified outlaws, while sniffer dogs had also been brought to the place to trace the saboteurs.

Meanwhile, political and social elite and elected representatives of the area have condemned the incident.
