KARACHI, Oct 28: South Shore School pulled off a major upset when they inflicted a 3-1 defeat on defending champion Beaconhouse School System (Cambridge) PECHS to propel into the boys final of the third JUC Inter-school table tennis championship at the JUC premises on Tuesday.

The winners are drawn to meet Nixor School who in the other pre-final blanked The City School PAF Chapter 3-0.

However, Beaconhouse School System (Cambridge) PECHS earned some consolation when they beat holders The City School PAF Chapter 3-2 to reach the girls final.

They now meets last year’s runner-up Mama Parsi School who accounted for Beaconhouse Jubilee Campus 3-1 in the other match.

Both the finals are due to be played on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Inter-school boys and girls badminton championship begins at the JUC premises on Wednesday.

As many as 11 schools in boys and nine in girls are to compete for honours.
