Gas fire: 3 brothers succumb to burns

SAHIWAL, Oct 26: Of the four brothers and a maid who had got burns in a gas fire in Sahiwal on Oct 16, three brothers have died in the last three days.

The four brothers -- Ghazanfar, Sohail, Nabeel and Badar – and their maid Ruqiya were injured when the fire erupted due to a gas leakage from a lamp installed in a house of Rehmat Sahi, at K-Block, Faird Town.

Ruqiya, 18, died a few hours later at the District Headquarters Hospital in Sahiwal. The brothers were shifted to Nishtar Hospital, Multan, where from they were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Kharian.

Ghazanfar, 10, died on Oct 25; Sohail, eight, succumbed to his injuries on Oct 26 and Nabeel died just hours later.
