Javaid Shaheen laid to rest

LAHORE, Oct 24: Noted poet Javaid Shaheen was laid to rest at the Miani Sahib graveyard on Friday.

People from all walks of life, including literary figures Intizar Husain, Aslam Gurdaspuri, Munoo Bhai, Chauhdry Ikramullah, Shahid Hameed, Riaz Ahmad, Azhar Ghauri and Asghar Nadeem Syed, attended his funeral.

Representatives of literary organisations such as Halqa Arbab-i-Zauq, Punjabi Adabi Sangat and Anjuman Taraqi Pasand were also present on the occasion.

His qul will be held in a mosque near his Shamnagar residence after Asr prayers on Saturday (today).
