KARACHI, Oct 24: Ten ships carrying raw jute, containers and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing was slow as only three ships, Hyundai Highway, Bunga Kenari to unload and load containers and Chemroad Rose to offload oil were accommodated berths after the departure of as many on Friday.

The departing ships were led by Cape Negro, Hyundai Highway and Bunga Kenari, while Chi Feng Kou, Red Sea Spirit, Island Star, Global Progress, Cocso Lian Yun Gang and Chemroad Rose are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly active where a total tonnage rose to 127,000 tons comprising 57,694 tons of export cargo including rice and cement and 69,588 tons of import tonnage.

The following vessels are due on Saturday: Bangla Lanka with 7,676 tons of raw jute, Blida and Ashraf-B to load cement, M.M. Kingston with lube oil, Cap Geroge, Oel Peace, CSav Lonquimay, Empress Phoenix, Tower Bridge and Sima Pride with containers.
