Javaid Shaheen passes away

LAHORE, Oct 23: Noted poet Javaid Shaheen died of a cardiac arrest in Islamabad on Thursday. He was 77.

His body was brought to Lahore in the evening. He had visited the federal capital to attend a family function there.

His funeral procession will be taken out from his house in Shamnagar, Chauburji, at 10:30am on Friday (today) and funeral prayers will be held at Eidgah, Miani Sahib, at 11am.

According to family, Shaheen had a lunch at his niece’s place in Islamabad and went for post-lunch rest. His son found him dead when he wanted to administer him a dose of anti-diabetic medicine.
