JACOBABAD, Oct 22: A large number of Primary Teachers Association took out a procession here on Wednesday to protest against occupation of railways girls school by the headmaster of a private school.
The procession started from government primary school which was led by Mohammad Alim Khoso, Taj Mohammad Soomro, Qurban Behrani and Mohammad Ali Soomro.
The protesters reached at the press club after parading on different thoroughfares. Their leaders said that railway girls primary school was occupied by the headmaster of a private school some time ago, while railway authorities were tight lipped over the issue.
The girl students of the railway school were deprived of the building and were compelled to seek admission in other schools. They said the school building be vacated, and after repair and renovation, be handed over to the school administration.
KIDNAP BID: Villagers and police foiled a bid to kidnap a taxi driver in Garhi Khairo area on Wednesday.
Some armed men kidnapped driver Fida Hussain on gunpoint. When bandits were escaping, villagers reached there and an encounter between villagers and the bandits took place near Gul Canal which continued for half an hour.
Meanwhile, DSP Mushtaq Ahmed Khoso also reached on the spot. The bandits left the driver but took away his car when police opened fire on them. A farmer Shaman Katohar was seriously injured in the shootout and was rushed to Larkana hospital. No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.
ROBBERY: Four armed men snatched mobile phones and cash from five persons at railway station here on Wednesday. According to report, Doulat Ram, Dileep Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Mukesh Lal and Afzal Pathan went to railway station to receive their guest.
As they were standing at platform number two, suddenly four armed persons with pistols intercepted them and snatched five mobile and Rs30,000 cash. Dileep Kumar was beaten up when he resisted. No FIR was lodged till the filing of this report.
RALLY: The members of the All Pakistan Clerks Association took out a rally to press for their demands. They were demanding restoration of job quota of the sons of deceased government employees and health insurance.
