Opec investment

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: Director General Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) has appreciated the reforms agenda initiated by Pakistan for the revival of the economy and offered to provide finances to the private sector in the country.

Offer to this effect was made at a call on meeting of Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz with Opec Director General at Algiers, says a message received here on Thursday.

Opec Director General during the meeting with the minister offered to provide finances to the private sector in Pakistan.

He appreciated the impressive economic revival programme of Pakistan, in particular the government’s efforts to assist the small and medium industries sectors.

The finance minister welcomed Opec’s proposal and reiterated government’s special interest in small and medium enterprises.—APP
