Child overrun by tanker

THATTA, Oct 21: A minor child was crushed to death in Ali Nawaz Jokhio village by a tanker, which was carrying water to a camp of foreign hunters near Jungshahi on Tuesday.

The driver and other staff of the tanker escaped after the minor Dildar was killed. The villagers later staged a demonstration which continued till the filing of this report. The protesters turned violent and smashed windscreens of the vehicles of hunters’ caravan when it passed their village.

With the advent of winter, some influential people of a Gulf country have set up hunting camps near Jungshahi area.

In another incident, two men, Mohammad Hassan Babbar and Khamiso Babbar, were killed and four others suffered injuries in a clash over dispute over a piece of land at Sanbha Mori on the National Highway on Tuesday.—Correspondent
