MITHI, Oct 21: A number of candidates who appeared in the pre-entry test for MBBS held in Hyderabad have demanded its re-conduct alleging that they were flawed.

At a press conference held at the press club here on Tuesday, Chhagan, Dayal and Bharat and other candidates said that for admission to various professional colleges and universities, tests are conducted to discourage copying culture.

On the contrary an entry test conducted at Hyderabad centre on October 12, became an evident proof of promoting copying, they said.

The pre-entry test for admission in Liaquat Medical University was below specified standard, no serial-wise seat numbers of candidates were written in the blocks on seats, however students were allowed to sit-in groups at the seats of their choice, who were freely using mobiles and consulting one another for answers to the questions making the transparency of the test questionable.

They appealed to governor, chief minister, education minister Sindh and other relevant authorities to take notice of alleged irregularities at the entry test, cancel them and order its re-conduct.

Our Sanghar correspondent adds: The candidates, who appeared in the entry test for admission in the MBBS and BDS at LUMHS and their parents expressed serious doubts about the fairness of the test conducted by IBM on October 12.

Tahir Iqbal Kalyar, Hyder Bux Leghari, Abdullah Sirewal, Ali Hassan and others told Dawn that the test looked like a walk-in-interview.

They also said that their sons and daughters who had appeared in the test told them that many candidates had answer sheets which were already ticked even before the start of the test. Mobile phones were used without restrictions.

They also alleged that the invigilation was very poor and even some youngsters were also seen to supervise the test. They demanded the cancellation of the test and re-conduct it through IBA, Aga Khan University or some other institute.
