Teacher commits suicide

RAWALPINDI, Oct 19: A lady schoolteacher committed suicide by hanging herself in her house in Saddar Bairooni area on Sunday, police said.

Sania Mujahid was found hanging with a rope tied to the ceiling of her room when her husband opened the door.

Police said she had been in distress for being issueless. On Sunday, she went to attend a marriage ceremony, but on her return she killed herself.

Meanwhile, a batch of 180 Pakistani illegal immigrants deported from Turkey arrived at Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Saturday.

A senior immigration official said six of the deportees belonged to Rawalpindi, one was from Haripur and the remaining from Gujranwala district.

The deportees were handed over to the FIA passport cell for further investigation.
