MIRPURKHAS, Oct 19: Hundreds of residents of Rahim Nagar, Bhansinghabad and Gulshan colony staged a demonstration on Mirwah road here on Sunday to protest against prolonged power cuts in their localities.

Protesters blocked the Mirwah road for some time and raised slogans against the Hesco.

Their leaders said that the Hesco was carrying out unscheduled load-shedding of long duration, which was affecting normal life as well as business activities.

They also alleged that despite load-shedding for hours, the power utility was issuing inflated bills, which was more irritating.

They urged Wapda chairman to take notice of the situation.

RECOVERED: Town investigation police have recovered a kidnapped girl from new bus terminal here on Sunday morning.

The police took into custody the kidnapped girl, Arifa, and shifted her to civil hospital for medical examination while Dr Rafia Manthar conducted her medical examination.

Town investigation police would produce the girl in court to record her statement.

ACCIDENT: At least 25 passengers were injured when a fast-moving bus overturned on Sindhri road near Ali Bux Jarwar village in the jurisdiction of the Dilbar Maher police station.

The injured were taken to Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas where most of them were discharged after receiving first aid. However, six injured identified as Mohammed Usman, Jumman, Tarachand, Iqbal, Ponmo and Lono were admitted to a hospital.
