FAISALABAD, Oct 16: The chief executive of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco), Ahmad Saeed Akhtar has said the load management advisory committee is being reactivated and the shutdown scheduled for maintenance has been cancelled for the time being.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, he said the company was making all possible efforts to provide electricity to its consumers. However, he said, the water shortage at Tarbela and Mangla, coupled with annual repairs by the independent power producers, Genco and Chashnob, had affected power generation.

He said Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf had directed the company to reinvigorate the load management committee and hold weekly meetings to keep any eye on demand and supply of electricity.

The Fesco chief has appealed to the consumers to save electricity to cope with the national challenge of power shortfall.
