RAWALPINDI, Oct 16: Two persons, including a woman were killed, while two other injured in separate road accidents in Rawalpindi-Islamabad, while an infant was killed after being hit by a bullet fired during a wedding ceremony in Pirwadhai area on Wednesday, police said on Thursday.

Shahnaz Bibi, 40, was killed while another girl Lubna, 19, traveling with her in a rickshaw was injured after being hit by a tractor trolley in the RA Bazar area.

The trolley driver Zahir Hussain, 28, who also sustained injuries in the accident was shifted to the District Headquartes Hospital, while the injured girl was allowed to go after she recovered.

Mohammad Anwar, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a wagon in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town. He was crossing the road along with Shafiq Ahmed when met with the accident. The accused driver escaped from the scene.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Azam aged between 2 and 3 was killed after a bullet fired by someone from the participants of wedding procession pierced into his body in Mehr colony Pirwadhai.

Kubra Bibi, the mother of the deceased in a complaint lodged with the police said that she along with her little son had come to participate in a wedding procession in Mehr colony. She said while she was sitting with her son in her lap, a bullet fired by someone from the participants hit and injured her son critically.

The injured was removed to the DHQ hospital where he died.

Some unidentified thieves deprived people of more than Rs 2 million, jewelry and five vehicles in at least eight different strikes in different parts of Rawalpindi-Islamabad on Wednesday, police said.Nadeem Khan complained the Sadiqabad police that some unidentified burglars broke into his house in his absence and stole away Rs1,250,000, gold bangles and other jewelery items.

In another similar incident, a doctor was deprived of gold jewellery and cash after some unidentified burglars broke into his house in sector G-11/1 Shalimar area. The value of the stolen gold and cash was Rs800.000.

Omer Javaid, captain was robbed of Rs4000 and ATM card after two unidentified motorcyclists intercepted him near a graveyard in Dehri Hassanabad on Wednesday night and later escaped with the cash.

Haji Mohammad Yunas car was stolen from the New Town area, Mohammad Shafiq Khan’s car was taken away by thieves from Westridge, Mirza Aslam Baig’s car no HB-720 was stolen from the Airport police area.

Riaz Ahmed’s carry van no LWP-6313 was stolen from Murree while Mohammad Yaquoob’s car no RLB-2804 was taken away by thieves from Taxila.
