RAWALPINDI, Oct 16: Doctors working on contract basis at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital called upon government for regularisation, family medical entitlement and stipend for the MCPS trainee and to provide them security during duty hours.
Highlighting their problems at a protest demonstration here on Thursday, the trainee doctors said they were not being paid properly and have no entitlements, security and other facilities.
The doctors locked up all the sections of the hospital, including the OPD. Only the emergency ward was allowed to function. They raised slogans in favor of their demands and called upon the Punjab government to announce revised packages for house officers and trainee doctors.
The monthly stipend of FCPS trainee is Rs15,000 and they have to work in this capacity for four years as post-graduate trainees (PGTs).
