SAHIWAL, May 9: Food Department’s Multan deputy director on Thursday suspended from service a food inspector of wheat purchase centre, Chak No 53/12-L, on the charge of misappropriation of 8,125 gunny bags worth Rs406,250.

An inquiry has also been ordered against Food Inspector Muhammad Sharif who collected 21,625 gunny bags from the department and sold out 8,125 of them to trader Muhammad Munir on his way to the centre.

Police registered the case against the food inspector and the trader.

FOUND DEAD: A working child who went missing from Abadi Jahaz area on Wednesday night was recovered dead from a ground near the Lawyers Colony on Thursday.

Bilal, 12, had been working as a helper in a workshop in Abadi Jahaz area for the last couple of months.

Police said that some unknown men abducted Bilal on Wednesday night when he was on way to his house. The abductors committed sodomy with him and later strangled him.

City police have taken the body into custody and started investigations.
