GUJAR KHAN, Oct 15: An additional district and sessions judge here on Wednesday directed the station house officer of Gujar Khan to stop local influential persons from occupying the property of a widow.

Sakhian Bibi, a resident of Jand Najar village, filed a petition in the court of Mohammad Iqbal Khan stating that Shakeela Bibi, Aamir, Farooq and others were attempting to occupy her house in the Hailian village while the litigation was pending in a civil court. She said she had been requesting the SHO to stop the accused from occupying her house but to no avail. She alleged that the SHO was supporting her opponents.

The judge directed the SHO to intervene and stop harassment of the widow and protect her property.

In another petition filed in the same court, Ghulam Mustafa and his wife Naseem Akhtar complained that they had submitted their marriage certificate to the union council but a councilor, Mirza Bashir, was threatening them to implicate them in a Zina case. The judge instructed the SHO to initiate legal action against the accused. — Correspondent
