Change in Tenancy Act sought

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Oct 15: Speakers demanded positive and effective amendments to Sindh Tenancy Act and end to feudalism during a conference held on Tuesday.

Resolution in this regard was passed during the conference held in Moro to mark the 23rd death anniversary of peasant leader Qazi Faiz Mohammad. They also demanded recognition of the right and control of provinces over mineral resources and right of self-determination to the nationalities of Pakistan.

Qazi Javed s/o Qazi Faiz Mohammad said that his father believed in social justice and strived for the oppressed class of the society. He said that Qazi Faiz Mohammad was the pioneer of a number of nationalist movements.

President Sindh Labour Council, Punhal Sario said that Qazi Faiz Mohammad struggled against One Unit and also played an important role in the language movement of early 50s - hence called the hero of Sindh.

Gul Moro, Ramzan Memon, Hashim Khoso, Younus Rahu, Photo Rustamani, Idrees Jatoi and Makhdoom Rasheed also spoke on the occasion.
