BUNER, Oct 15: A jirga held a meeting at College Hall, Swari here on Wednesday and decided to constitute an all parties delegation to meet NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti in connection with the law and order in the district.

The jirga was attended by the district coordination officer, district police officer, district nazim, naib nazim, local MPAs and MNA. The jirga was also participated by local leaders of almost all the political parties, members of district, union and village peace committees and elite of the area.

The five-hour long closed-door meeting thoroughly discussed the law and order situation in the district. Strict security measures were adopted by the local administration by deploying personnel of district police, anti-terrorist squad, bomb disposal squad and district volunteers.

The jirga decided that a body comprised of three members from each political party and elected representatives will arrange the meeting with the chief minister. The jirga decided that no army personnel or Taliban would be allowed to enter the district, pledging that peace in the district will be maintained with the help of district police.

The meeting expressed anguish over the performance of district police during crisis in the recent past.

The meeting also demanded of the government to deploy Frontier Constabulary on bordering areas of the district and transfer all the local policemen to district Buner.

DEATH CONDOLED: NWFP senior minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour and Information Minister Mian Iftikhar visited the grave of late Shams-uz-Zaman Khan, the Awami National Party’s district vice president, at Awani area of the district Buner on Wednesday.

The two leaders paid homage to the slain leaders for his meritorious services to the party cause till the last drop of his blood.
